I’m a sucker for words. One good book and one good poem could change my darkest days to a sunny paradise. Before I chose Engineering as my field of study, there were many times I wanted to be a writer. Specifically, a fiction writer. Writing has been an absolute pleasure for me ever since I read the Dish series by Diane Muldrow and typed an exact copy of the book but changed the character’s names. Silly, I know. This incident drove a fire in me to start writing my own stories, writing my journals, my thoughts, and whatever comes to mind.

I chose the name mermaidscents three years ago, when I decided to start a WordPress blog. I had loved mermaids and all-mermaid-things after watching Barbie’s Mermaidia. However, it never came to be of use until today, when my passion for blogging suddenly went up full force.

This blog will be a safe place for me to share my raw stories and rants, with less editing and more of the element of fun. I believe that when I’m old and grey—and if WordPress and the Internet still exists—this will be a fun one to read.
